Join us as the Head of Data Management, RBS International

  • In this leading role, you’ll be accountable for data management activity in RBS International (RBSI), as well as the supervision and execution of data management services and data quality control mechanisms
  • With your primary focus on our portfolio of data quality work on priority items, you’ll support the delivery of business objectives and key results for data
  • This is a highly visible and influential role that offers excellent exposure for you and your work

What you'll do

As our Head of Data Management, you’ll help to deliver key strategic outcomes and support bank-wide data transformation. You’ll be responsible for monitoring and reporting data risk on behalf of RBSI. You’ll also oversee change programme adherence to data architecture standards and data management operational procedures.

Working with Data & Analytics you’ll make strategic tooling accessible and appropriate, and you’ll also monitor the target state architecture, identifying gaps for golden sources of data and meeting standards for cloud data marketplace.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Owning our data strategy, assessing the impact of RBSI data programme deliveries on risk appetite
  • Monitoring progression towards data management regulatory compliance, and leading data issue analysis, governance, and back book remediation
  • Embedding a strong data culture within the franchise
  • Leading activities to manage the franchise data risk, and interacting with the bank’s functions on KRIs and data risk OKRs that represent our ongoing risk position

The skills you'll need

                                                    

We’re looking for someone with an understanding of data management governance activities as well as treasury, customer, and financial data. You’ll have the ability to lead and develop project teams and remediation activities and provide end to end data management leadership to the relevant RBSI business areas.

Furthermore, we’re looking for:

  • Experience in leading data management teams in the financial services sector
  • In depth knowledge of BCBS239, assessing data risk and the impact of poor data regarding this
  • The ability to understand and develop standards by improving data quality
  • The ability to resolve complex problems and design solutions that support our bank-wide simplification programme
  • Knowledge of cloud data practices and data architecture
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
