We are looking for a visionary leader ready to define and deliver the next generation of data and AI strategy in a global, innovation-focused organisation At LGC, we're on a digital transformation journey — and we’re looking for a Head of Data & AI to lead the way!
In this high-impact role, we are looking for someone to shape the future of our data infrastructure, drive enterprise AI adoption, and build a culture where data-driven thinking is embedded across every function — from Life Sciences to Legal, HR, Compliance, and IT.
What You’ll Do
As part of the leadership team, you will:
- Define and implement a comprehensive roadmap for enterprise-wide data and AI maturity
- Own the design of scalable architecture to power analytics, automation, and AI innovation
- Champion a modern data governance framework, embedding quality, security, and stewardship
- Lead all aspects of the delivery of AI use cases, from POC to scalable enterprise adoption
- Mentor and grow a cross-functional team of engineers, scientists, analysts, and architects
- Collaborate across functions to translate technical vision into business outcomes
- Evaluate and invest in emerging technologies to future-proof our data capabilities
- Ensure all initiatives align with ethical, compliant, and responsible AI practices
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
We're looking for a rare mix of critical thinking and technical expertise, including:
- A Master's or PhD in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years in analytics, data science, or AI, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-scale data and AI programs
- Deep understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and responsible AI practices
- Strong technical knowledge in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), machine learning, and modern data architecture
- Excellent communication and influence skills — especially at C-level
- A collaborative attitude with a consistent track record to lead cross-functional teams and change initiatives
