We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of NHS Contracts and Business Development to play a pivotal role in protecting, developing and growing our NHS partnerships.

This is a senior opportunity to lead our NHS Contracts and Business Development function, combining strategic commercial thinking with outstanding contract management and business development. You’ll help ensure we maximise the value and potential of our existing NHS contracts while identifying and securing opportunities for sustainable growth.

  • Protect and develop existing NHS contracts, creating clear plans for retention, performance and growth.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share and grow existing services.
  • Maintain and develop a strong national business-development pipeline, ensuring MSI UK is well positioned for upcoming NHS commissioning and procurement opportunities.
  • Lead major NHS tenders, coordinating high-quality submissions across Operations, Finance, Clinical, Governance, Business Intelligence, Digital and other teams.
  • Strengthen contract-management systems, processes and governance across our portfolio.
  • Use data, market intelligence and competitor insight to identify opportunities and inform commercial decisions.
  • Build effective relationships with NHS commissioners and other key healthcare stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Contracts & Business Development team, creating a culture of ownership, pace, commercial curiosity and accountability.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an established leader with significant senior-level experience in business development, contract management, commercial management or NHS commissioning.

You’ll bring:

  • A proven track record of delivering measurable business growth and increasing market share.
  • Strong experience managing significant contract portfolios and developing effective contract-management systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of NHS commissioning, procurement and contracting.
  • Experience identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.
  • Proven experience leading complex NHS tenders and multidisciplinary bid processes.
  • Strong contract and fee-negotiation skills, coupled with excellent commercial and financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to set clear expectations, develop teams and drive performance.
