About the job

We are looking for a Compliance Manager to head up the UK Compliance team, operating in the UK statutory entity in London, reporting to the Group Head of Compliance in Copenhagen. Group Compliance is an important function in the Group, and the UK Head of Compliance will need to ensure the compliance needs of the Group and the local business are properly met. The position has a place in the local Management Team and the Group Compliance Management team. 

Responsibilities

  • You determine the direction of the Compliance team in the UK and manage the team in collaboration with the broader Saxo Compliance team 
  • You will hold SM16 & 17 and are responsible for the relevant reports and communication towards the local regulators on compliance matters
  • You oversee the planning and execution on all possible compliance topics included in Compliance activity plans, including reporting, advising, monitoring etc 
  • You have HR responsibilities (people management) for the UK Compliance team

Your Profile

You bring a comprehensive background in compliance, risk, and control, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or financial markets. Your expertise includes a deep understanding of European and UK financial services compliance laws and regulations, as well as hands-on experience in dealing with financial services regulators. You possess a broad knowledge of various compliance risk areas and have demonstrated strong stakeholder engagement skills, fostering collaboration with both the wider Compliance team and the local business.

You aspire to become a leader and, while it is not necessary to have led teams before, you can provide instances where you have showcased your leadership skills. Your strong sense of independence ensures that Compliance meets the requirements set out in local and other regulations.

This is a chance to have a wide scope of responsibility including managing a small team and contributing to and influencing the direction of the Group Compliance function as well as serving on the UK leadership team.
