Sompo  has a unique opportunity for a Head of Claims Procurement in our Global Procurement team. 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Claims Procurement category leader to join our Global Procurement team.  The team is expanding and we are rapidly maturing our tools and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for globally leading and managing the Claims procurement category across the organization.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the category strategy development for Claims globally e.g. use of panels.
  • Conduct assessments of business requirements, products, spend and the market.
  • Liaise closely with end-users to determine their requirements, providing input into the sourcing process. Ensure end-users requirements are sufficiently detailed in an appropriate format.
  • Negotiate local, regional or global contracts in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with business partners to identify and minimise exposure to financial and operational risks.
  • Ensure good governance in all aspects of category and contracts management.
  • Drive for continuous improvement in all relevant work processes.

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years experience in a similar procurement role.
  • Negotiation: Prepare for and apply a range of negotiating tactics to achieve win-win commercial and non commercial outcomes.
  • Business alignment: Adopt a consultative approach to enhancing critical relationships with internal stakeholders, generating mutual value for both procurement and the organisation.
  • Strategy development: Create, document and deliver structured and compelling strategies based on data-driven insights, stakeholder needs and business objectives.
  • Change management: agile and resilient in the face of organisational change. Seek, analyse and support opportunities to drive change, as well as add value to the business.
  • Problem solving: and decision making: Thinks through problems constructively and takes action to devise solutions.
