About 

Created in 2019, EICL was the UK’s first ever insurtech to secure its own insurance licence. Authorised and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, we provide underwriting capacity to the group MGA, Zego, for personal and commercial motor customers in the UK.

The role

We are seeking a Head of Claims to oversee and manage claims strategy, performance, and relationships with key stakeholders. The role is vital in ensuring claims processes are efficient, transparent, and aligned with our operational goals.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the overall relationship between EICL and Claims TPAs, including Zego.
  • Oversee, manage, and authorise claims exceeding £100,000.
  • Act as the key relationship point between EICL and reinsurers, preparing and presenting claims data during reinsurance meetings.
  • Review claims TPA performance, including all claims KPIs, and identify and manage risks.
  • Conduct desktop audits of monthly claims bordereaux and individual claims.
  • Serve as a member of the EICL Pricing & Underwriting, Claims, and Product Oversight & Governance committees.

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • Extensive experience in claims management within the insurance sector, including handling high-value claims.
  • Strong understanding of claims processes, KPIs, and risk management.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with TPAs and reinsurers.
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate claims data and identify trends or risks.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills to manage complex claims strategies and teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with stakeholders and represent EICL effectively.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in Gibraltar and the UK.

Note: The primary location for this role would be either in Gibraltar or nearby in Spain. However, occasional travel to the London office may be required.
