What does a Head of B2B Sales, DACH & RoW do;

Reporting into the Director of Sales, the purpose of this role is to manage the sales team working the DACH market and other markets. You will build a culture of high-performance and a hunting motion to acquire new logos. You must be passionate about bringing the best out of people, you will be helping A-players overachieve and you will help members through the dreaded sales slump, build them back up and help them succeed. To be successful in this role you will need to take a hands-on approach to managing your team. You will lead, coach and motivate your team and oversee the activities and performance by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets, and facilitate the ongoing training of your salespeople. You will play an important role in developing go-to-market strategies for your team and for the region and focus sectors,  work shoulder-to-shoulder with team members on key opportunities, and use your own skills and network to open doors at C-level and originate deals with strategic target accounts.

Success requires a hands-on approach: you will coach, motivate, and oversee performance by tracking goals, setting targets, and facilitating continuous training. You will be instrumental in developing regional and sector-focused go-to-market strategies, working side-by-side with the team on key opportunities, and leveraging your network to open C-level doors and originate strategic deals.

Responsibilities of a Head of Sales, DACH & RoW;

  • Manage a team of new Business Development Managers

  • Implement GTM & strategies and territory plans

  • Set, meet and exceed team sales targets 

  • Devise & embed frameworks that lead to high performance

  • Track sales performance and make data driven decisions

  • Support teams throughout all stages of the sales process

  • Coach for high performance, work on progression and performance plans

  • Developing your sales team through motivation, coaching and training 

  • Partner with your team and help open doors with key prospects, originate opportunities

  • Represent and speak about Busuu at trade shows as a brand ambassador 

What we’re looking for in a Head of Sales, DACH & RoW:

  • You have 5+ years experience working in a fast growing B2B tech-enabled SaaS company (or equivalent) selling into the DACH market

  • At least 3 years experience as a sales team manager

  • You have a proven track record of growing and managing high performance sales teams 

  • You are experienced in planning and implementing sales strategies

  • You are experience in performance tracking, setting KPIs

  • You have managed a team of sales people selling at enterprise level and deal sizes of up to and above 100k ARR

  • You thrive in fast-paced start-up environments and respond to change with agility and enthusiasm

  • You have a deep understanding of how to coach teams and implement Sales Methodologies (e.g. Solution Selling, Value Selling, Franklin Covey, Challenger, MEDDICC, etc)

  • You are data driven with a solid understanding of sales metrics and the tools to track them

  • A big plus is experience selling to HR, L&D teams and a strong network in the DACH market at executive level.
