Assistant Financial Controller - 10 month FTC

We’re looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join Thredd in London on a fixed-term contract basis for 10 months. You’ll play a key role in our Finance team, taking ownership of core financial operations as we continue to scale globally.

In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and efficient processes. You’ll own the monthly close cycle, ensuring financial information is delivered accurately and on time.

You’ll also play a key role in managing payroll operations, coordinating tax compliance and supporting treasury activities. Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll help ensure financial processes support operational decision making while driving improvements through automation and stronger controls.

This is an opportunity to shape and strengthen the financial foundations of a business operating at the centre of the global payments ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing as an Assistant Financial Controller

▪ Managing the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliations

▪ Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including cash management and accounts payable

▪ Leading the end-to-end global payroll process, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation and compliance

▪ Coordinating tax compliance processes with external advisors across VAT, GST, ERS and Corporation Tax

▪ Managing the 13-week cash flow forecast and supporting treasury planning

▪ Improving accounting processes and controls through automation and operational improvements

▪ Managing relationships with auditors, payroll providers and internal stakeholders across the business


What you’ll bring to the Assistant Financial Controller position

▪ Professional accounting qualification with industry experience

▪ Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles

▪ Experience managing full cycle accounting processes and financial close

▪ Experience overseeing payroll processes and associated compliance

▪ Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting systems

▪ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power BI

▪ Experience managing or supporting junior team members

This Assistant Financial Controller position requires you to be in the London office (Holborn) three days a week.
