ABOUT WIREX & THE BAAS OPPORTUNITY

Wirex is a regulated crypto-enabled payments platform used by over 6 million people in 130 countries. We’ve crossed $1 billion in annualised on-chain transactions, and we’re now scaling the infrastructure that powers other businesses.

Wirex BaaS provides regulated infrastructure for companies looking to launch card programmes, payment accounts, and digital asset services under Wirex’s licensing. Our clients span Web2 and Web3: fintech startups, crypto exchanges, DeFi protocols, wallet providers, and established payment businesses, all accessing IBAN accounts, card issuance, stablecoin on/off-ramps, and programmatic payment solutions through a single API.

BaaS is one of the most strategically important growth areas at Wirex. This hire is pivotal to our success. We’re looking for someone who will build and close a serious pipeline from day one.

THE ROLE

This is a pure hunter role. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach through to proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement, while also nurturing and growing existing partner relationships.

You will be the primary commercial interface between Wirex BaaS and its partners, coordinating across Product, Compliance, Engineering, and Legal to deliver compelling proposals and smooth onboarding experiences.

You will be given autonomy, a strong product to sell, and a leadership team that is fully invested in your success. In return, we expect relentless pipeline activity, commercial rigour, and results.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

New Business Development

  • Proactively source and qualify inbound and outbound leads across fintech, payments, crypto, and Web3 verticals
  • Own the full sales cycle: outreach, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and closing
  • Build and maintain a healthy, accurately forecasted pipeline in HubSpot CRM
  • Develop tailored commercial proposals including pricing structures, interchange revenue-share models, and integration scopes

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partners, ensuring high satisfaction and retention
  • Conduct regular business reviews and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, additional card programmes, new payment rails, wallet infrastructure
  • Build trusted relationships with partner stakeholders from technical leads to C-suite

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Compliance, and Engineering to translate partner requirements into actionable deliverables
  • Manage partner onboarding and integration tracking via Jira
  • Prepare and present commercial materials, pitch decks, and call briefs with the BaaS leadership team

Tools & Process

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in HubSpot, deal stages, contacts, activity logging
  • Use AI tools (including Claude) to accelerate research, content drafting, and operational efficiency
  • Attend and represent Wirex at relevant industry events and conferences

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years in a commercial or business development role within fintech, payments, or Web3, with a clear track record of closing B2B partnerships
  • Solid, demonstrable understanding of Web2 financial infrastructure (neobanks, payment processors, card issuers) AND Web3 business models (crypto exchanges, DeFi, wallet providers)
  • Experience with card issuing, programme management, BaaS, or embedded finance, either selling it or operating within it
  • Working knowledge of payment rails: SEPA, SWIFT, ACH, Push-to-Card
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks for payments and digital assets in the EU/EEA, and ideally Southeast Asia or the USA
  • Proficient with HubSpot CRM and comfortable with project management tooling (Jira or equivalent)
  • Strong written and verbal communication: professional proposals, executive presentations, commercial emails
  • Self-starter who operates with high autonomy in a remote-first environment

Highly Valued

  • Direct experience with stablecoin infrastructure, USDC, USDT, on-chain settlement, on/off-ramps
  • Understanding of external authorisation flows, KYC/KYB processes (e., SumSub), or API-driven partner integrations
  • An existing network of relevant contacts across the BaaS, embedded finance, or crypto infrastructure space

WHAT SETS YOU APART

You’ve spent years in the infrastructure layer of payments or crypto, not selling around it, but selling it. You understand the commercial and technical complexity of BaaS deals: the compliance considerations, the integration timelines, the stakeholder dynamics, and the patience required to bring the right partners across the line.

You know the difference between a prospect who is genuinely evaluating BaaS and one who is kicking tyres. You’ve navigated long sales cycles in regulated environments, and you know how to keep momentum without losing rigour. You probably already know some of the names on our target partner list, and they know you.

You’re not looking for a role with a rigid playbook. You want the freedom to build something, with the backing of a business that has the product, the licences, and the ambition to compete at the highest level. You find that combination genuinely exciting.

WHAT WE OFFER

•    Competitive salary commensurate with experience
•    Generous vacation allowance + Public Holidays
•    Paid Charity Day
•    Remote working and flexible hours
•    Annual Training Allowance
•    Significant opportunity for career growth at a leading fintech

Note: Benefits will depend on the region in which you are hired.
