GHD Data & Insights Team – Growth & Client Development Partner

Join a global professional services leader committed to solving the world’s biggest challenges across energy, transport, utilities and the built environment. We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute Growth & Client Development Partner to accelerate the expansion of our Data & Insights practice in the UK. This is a senior, market-facing role focused on originating, shaping and converting high-value consulting opportunities that improve infrastructure for generations to come.

We operate with an entrepreneurial mentality, embedded within a global corporate framework, giving you the freedom to shape markets, build relationships, and influence the direction of a high-performing team.

What we do

The Data & Insights team is one of GHD’s strongest advisory capabilities with excellent client feedback and large “sticky” accounts, delivering data-led advisory services across built infrastructure. We are consistently recognised for pragmatic delivery and exceptional technical quality with a deep pool of technical and commercially astute talent.

We combine deep sector expertise with robust technical capability to help clients unlock value across water, energy, transport, telecoms and environment. Our UK business operates as a mature, high-quality regional capability, aligned to global Data & AI offerings, accelerators and reusable frameworks.

Your responsibilities

Relationship Development & Market Leadership

  • Build, maintain and expand senior-level relationships with executives across UK infrastructure clients, particularly in water, energy and private sector infrastructure.
  • Represent GHD at industry forums, client workshops and sector networks to elevate our market presence.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, bringing independent insight and credible challenge to senior stakeholders.
  • Engage executives in digital transformation, operations, asset management and investment planning.

Opportunity Origination & Work Winning

  • Proactively identify and originate multiple high-value (£400k–£1m+) consulting opportunities aligned to our Data & Insights capability.
  • Leverage an established network to create new client access points and open strategic level conversations.
  • Lead or co-lead proposal shaping, case for change development and commercial structuring in collaboration with delivery leads.

Solution Shaping & Proposition Development

  • Translate client challenges into clear, compelling, technically grounded consulting propositions.
  • Bring together multidisciplinary specialists, delivering across data engineering, AI, modelling, digital asset and information management, and analytics across built infrastructure.
  • Ensure solutions reflect UK market needs while aligning to global accelerators, frameworks and IP.

Practice Growth & Market Insight

  • Contribute to the shape and evolution of future UK Data & Insights offerings and sector plays.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence on regulation, client priorities, competitor activity and technology trends.
  • Support creation of case studies and thought leadership that enhance our market credibility.

Capability Development & Knowledge Transfer

  • Mentor and coach colleagues to strengthen their market engagement and commercial capabilities.
  • Contribute to an open, collaborative culture with a flat intellectual hierarchy where ideas are valued on merit.

What success looks like

First 3 months

  • Deep understanding of the team’s delivery approach and growth objectives.
  • Establish relationships with technical leaders and consulting teams.
  • Re-engage your network and identify early market opportunities.

3–6 months

  • Contribute to securing and delivering at least one significant (£400k+) engagement.
  • Build a credible early pipeline of multiple opportunities aligned to UK growth priorities.

6–12 months

  • Expand engagement across priority sectors.
  • Secure additional engagements aligned with the growth trajectory.
  • Position the team as a trusted partner for data-driven decision making.

Longer term

  • Build a sustainable, multi-million-pound opportunity pipeline.
  • Help position GHD as a leading UK partner in data-driven infrastructure intelligence.

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you bring:

  • Significant experience in consulting or advisory services within UK infrastructure, specifically across utilities (e.g. water companies, electricity generation, transmission and distribution and renewables) or related sectors.
  • A proven track record of originating, shaping and converting senior-level consulting opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build C-suite relationships and open new access points.
  • Strong understanding of data, analytics and digital transformation in asset-intensive organisations.
  • Experience in both public and private sectors is beneficial.

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Able to translate technical concepts into Board-level language.
  • Commercially astute with strong judgement on value, risk and opportunity.
  • Collegial, collaborative and comfortable working with technical specialists.
  • Self-directed, proactive and accountable.

About GHD

Being the best we can be is in our culture. We are a family of smart, innovative problem solvers, and as an employee-owned organisation, we take a long-term view in everything we do.

We offer:

  • A flat intellectual hierarchy where every voice is heard.
  • Access to global Data & AI communities and accelerators.
  • Tools, support and investment to do your best work.
  • A strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and flexible working options.

We operate a Hybrid working environment, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office or with clients – however for this particular role we are expecting the majority of time to be spent out with clients with a home office location of central London.
