About the role:
We need a Group Direct Tax Lead to join the London team. You will be responsible for everything related to direct taxes across Storio Group. This means managing tax compliance, advising on tax matters, and planning efficient tax structures. You will be key to making sure our tax affairs run efficiently and effectively, helping us navigate complex direct taxation and business transactions.
How you embrace curiosity daily
- You will actively seek out tax incentives like R&D Tax Credits or WBSO and manage the claiming process.
- You prepare and submit all direct tax returns for income, withholding, and capital gains.
- You oversee and prepare transfer pricing documentation, including the Master File and Local File.
- You work closely with business units to give expert advice on the direct tax impact of new initiatives.
- You advise on the right tax structures for commercial transactions like acquisitions or disposals.
- You help the Treasury team optimise intercompany financing, keeping rules like thin capitalisation in mind.
- You coordinate our official responses to ongoing tax audits across all Storio Group entities.

- You guarantee that we are compliant with all relevant tax regulations globally.
- You ensure we operate in the most tax efficient way possible through strategic planning.
- You provide innovative, clear solutions to complex tax issues, helping us manage risks and opportunities.
- You enable business growth by creating and maintaining a robust, reliable tax structure.
- You make key tax disclosures for our budget, forecasts, and annual financial reports.
What you bring to the team
- A solid understanding of corporate tax advisory, compliance, and international tax principles.
- Experience in tax compliance and advisory, ideally gained at a Big 4, Top 10, or in-house firm.
- A proven ability to partner with the business and find innovative solutions to tax issues.
- Sound judgment when identifying risks, conducting reviews, and knowing when to escalate concerns.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
What sets you apart
- A relevant professional qualification such as ATT, ACA, CA, or CTA, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with optimising tax structures or intercompany financing.
- The ability to negotiate fees and manage external tax advisors.
