Job Description

Group Product Manager

This role will be part of the Visa Cross-Border Solutions team.

The Role

The Group Product Manager is responsible for leading a VXBS Tribe (a distinct product area consisting of a group of scrum teams), ensuring the successful delivery and adoption of high-impact products and features. The GPM drives long-term product strategy for the tribe, and the role includes line management of tribe POs and PMs. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, deep market understanding, and strong leadership skills. The GPM will work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure alignment with business goals and market opportunities. This role reports to a Product Director or Senior Director.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Vision:

·      Develop and communicate a product strategy for the tribe that aligns with the company’s long-term vision and business goals.

·      Conduct comprehensive market, customer, competitor, and technology research to inform product decisions.

·      Secure buy-in for the product strategy from colleagues, stakeholders, and executive leadership.

·      Work with tribe PMs to guide translation of strategic goals into actionable product backlogs, prioritizing features based on customer, commercial, and strategic value.

 

Discovery:

·       Act as the accountable product lead on large cross functional discovery initiatives & projects.

·       Conduct discovery with clients to uncover potential problems and opportunities to tackle. 

·       Engage with customers and colleagues to ideate new features and products to be developed.

·       Support product leadership to support and train the rest of the product organisation on best practices for discovery.

 

Delivery:

·      Oversee and support with end-to-end product development of critical releases by tribe PMs, including planning, execution, and launch.

·      Work with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of products and features.

·      ensure ongoing high performance of tribe PMS, and timely delivery against the strategic roadmap.

 

Adoption:

·      Partner with Product Marketing and GTM teams to define go-to-market strategies and product positioning.

·      Drive product adoption across various regions, segments, and use cases.

·      Measure and report on product performance, using data to inform future product decisions and improvements.

 

Leadership and collaboration 

·      Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across multiple teams and departments.

·      Build strong relationships with stakeholders, advocating for product initiatives and securing necessary resources.

·      Line manage and guide other product managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

 

What Success Looks Like

·      Successful delivery of strategic product roadmaps within the tribe that drive business value and customer satisfaction.

·      High adoption rates and positive feedback from customers and stakeholders.

·      Effective cross-functional collaboration leading to timely and high-quality product releases.

·      Demonstrated leadership in driving strategic initiatives and managing stakeholder relationships.

 

This is a hybrid position based in London Paddington office. This requires 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) attendance in the London office.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager role, preferably in a Fintech or tech start-up environment.
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban, with experience managing multiple teams.
  • Proven ability to define and prioritize product backlogs, making tough trade-offs and data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in crafting long-term product strategies based on market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to make informed decisions based on financial analysis and market opportunities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing decision-making at multiple organizational levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience in Fintech domains such as payments, FX, transaction banking, or trading is preferred.
  • A proactive self-starter who takes accountability for delivering results.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams.
  • Analytical and commercially sharp, with a focus on driving business value.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and always seeking innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
