Hello, we’re Starling. We built a new kind of bank because we knew technology had the power to help people save, spend and manage their money in a new and transformative way. We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company. We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone. We employ more than 3,500 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

We are looking to hire a Group Investor Relations Analyst who will play a part in managing relationships with Starling’s investor base, cultivating their understanding of the firm’s financial performance and business plan on an ongoing basis. Your work will be instrumental in building conviction among the wider investor and analyst community in Starling’s vision and strategy for growth as the group heads towards life as a listed business. We are looking for a curious person with a passion for FinTech.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the inner workings of one of the UK’s top fintechs. You will work closely with and collaborate across multiple functions within the Group including the Investor Relations Team, Group CFO’s Office, Strategy, Corporate Affairs, FP&A and Financial Modelling, Treasury, Company Secretariat and Legal teams.

In particular, you will:

  • Support in day-to-day communications with existing and prospective investors, sell-side analysts and rating agencies
  • Provide investors and analysts with relevant and accurate information to support their technical understanding of the Starling Group’s business model and financial performance
  • Manage the investor mailbox to ensure all communications are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Conduct analysis to assess shareholder impact of corporate actions
  • Support in the preparation of compelling equity & credit story materials including teasers and information memorandums to support and execute fundraises and other capital events including an eventual IPO
  • Coordinate investor meetings and events and prepare supporting materials, and maintain the investor rolodex
  • Support in the preparation of briefing materials for the Group CEO and Group CFO ahead of earnings calls and meeting with investors
  • Manage investor communications and track feedback during primary issuance and secondary transactions
  • Work closely with the Corporate Affairs team to manage public perception of the group, develop consistent narratives surrounding Starling’s long-term growth strategy, business model and financial performance, and support with public facing communications and disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain the Group’s webpage
  • Monitor analyst coverage and key valuation assumptions and outputs

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 or above, or equivalent
  • You might be working towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification (ACA/CA etc.) or CFA

  • Any IPO experience is a plus
  • Clear and engaging communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and visual presentation skills, producing pitch/presentation materials of a high professional standard
  • Desire to work in an open, collaborative and fast paced environment
  • Strong financial acumen and accounting knowledge
  • Corporate finance skills with ability to interpret financial models and valuation analysis
  • Good technical understanding of fintech/banking business models, industry trends and valuation methodologies is preferred
  • Comprehension of the FCA listing rules and disclosure requirements
