An exciting opportunity has opened across the group for a Head of Supply Chain. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the experienced leadership team and will be responsible for developing and delivering an end‑to‑end supply chain strategy across all manufacturing sites within the group. This role ensures optimal procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance to support operational efficiency, cost reduction, and business growth. The position provides leadership, governance, and continuous improvement across the full supply chain function, ensuring consistent best‑practice processes are implemented across the group.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the group’s supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Drive standardisation of supply chain processes across multiple sites.

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring business continuity.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance collaboration between operations, planning, procurement, and finance.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Oversee group procurement activities, ensuring value, quality, and cost-effective sourcing.

  • Establish a supplier relationship management framework, including KPIs and performance reviews.

  • Negotiate strategic supplier contracts and long-term agreements.

  • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, cost reduction, and value engineering.

Demand & Production Planning

  • Lead the development of integrated business planning (IBP/S&OP) processes across manufacturing sites.

  • Ensure robust demand forecasting, capacity planning, and material planning.

  • Optimise production planning to support on-time delivery and reduce bottlenecks.

Logistics & Inventory Management

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient and cost-effective material flow.

  • Implement inventory optimisation strategies to balance working capital and availability.

  • Ensure accurate stock control, cycle counting, and warehouse management best practices.

Performance & Improvement

  • Define KPIs for procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier performance.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Utilise data and analytics to drive decision‑making and performance visibility.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, quality standards, and group policies.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Significant experience (8+ years) in supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven track record in procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier management.

  • Experience managing supply chains across multi-site operations.

  • Strong negotiation, commercial, and contract management skills.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics AX, etc.).

  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies (Green Belt/Black Belt desirable).
