We're looking for a technically strong and commercially minded accountant to join our Group Finance team. In this role, you'll support the delivery of high-quality financial reporting across Parkdean Resorts, ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and statutory requirements while helping to maintain a robust governance and control environment.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you'll provide expert technical accounting advice, support external reporting obligations and contribute to a variety of finance and tax-related projects.
What you will be doing...- Researching, interpreting and applying IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards to complex business transactions and new initiatives.
- Preparing technical accounting papers and providing recommendations on appropriate accounting treatments and revenue recognition policies.
- Supporting the preparation of Group and subsidiary statutory financial statements.
- Producing technical and financial reporting disclosures and supporting external audit requirements.
- Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
- Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and preparing balance sheet review documentation, highlighting key risks and issues.
- Leading the implementation of new accounting standards and communicating financial reporting impacts to stakeholders across the business.
- Acting as a key contact for external auditors, ensuring information requests are delivered accurately and on time.
- Collaborating with the FP&A team to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Providing information and analysis to support corporation tax reporting and compliance requirements.
- Supporting finance transformation initiatives and projects focused on improving controls, compliance and efficiency.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end journal postings.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of a strong financial control framework across the Finance function.
- Supporting technical accounting reviews and other ad-hoc finance projects as required.
- Taking on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve, following appropriate training and support.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally ACA trained.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience applying IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Previous experience within a group finance, financial reporting or technical accounting role.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse, model and interpret financial data.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
