We are looking to recruit a Grid Contracts Manager to be based in our London or Glasgow office. 

Job Description

As Grid Contracts Manager, you will:

  • Manage the grid connection contracts from development through to contracting and management of the agreements
  • Support the wind, solar and grid services development teams by providing grid expertise and support
  • Manage the grid securities and liabilities for the wind, solar and grid services projects
  • Develop best practice and governance across functions by providing processes and systems to support development services activities
  • Develop analytical and reporting expertise and mechanisms to support development services activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on the grid connections function and grid contract workflows
  • Managing the application and modification process for the grid connection agreements, liaising with internal teams, technical support, legal, NGESO and TOs as required, ensuring that all prescribed deadlines are achieved and strategic connections objectives are met.
  • Managing the grid security payments for the biannual security periods and on acceptance of contracts, liaising with procurement, accounts and external parties as required, ensuring required payments are assessed and challenged as appropriate, and made within prescribed timescales
  • Managing the grid connection contracts and provide management information on key contract deliverables, payments and obligations
  • Liaising with the development teams to ensure that all contractual obligations are achieved and all payments are made in line with contractual timescales
  • Developing grid-specific reporting, systems and guidance at both a portfolio and granular project/issue level to disseminate learnings to empower teams to adopt cost-effective and efficient approaches to the development of grid connections
  • Supporting wider business development activity including stakeholder relationship development, costs and connection modelling, benchmarking and development of KPIs, and application of good governance and internal assurance to provide robust and reliable services to development teams
  • Applying analytical techniques and tools to grid and industry data to provide more informative outputs to empower the development teams to achieve their business development objectives.
  • Maintaining industry knowledge on relevant wider issues and representations; actively contribute to Statkraft’s industry engagement including working groups and consultation responses.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Statkraft project development activities through lessons learnt processes, knowledge transfer and mentoring of Project Developers
  • Undertaking occasional UK and international travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in related subject
  • Experience of managing stakeholders and functions with competing priorities and timescales
  • Full knowledge and understanding of Connections Reform is critical
  • Experience developing and managing business processes, systems, documentation and reporting
  • Experience in utilising and developing analytical tools including Power BI and other data analytical software is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
