Job Description

The role of Graduate / Junior Java Developer is really important to us.

In this role you’ll join the talented software development team in our successful and growing vehicle telematics business unit.

An IT Graduate / Junior role at Radius offers real life exposure to the technologies and industries in which we operate and to the international marketplace. We would love to welcome you to our brand-new telematics head office at Arden Square, Crewe, Cheshire, working hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.

It is a fantastic modern working environment, built for collaboration, with features including onsite pizzeria, barista, and roof top bar.

Important: Unfortunately we are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role. You must have full, long term, right to work in the UK in order to be considered.

Your responsibilities day to day will be…

  • Coordination with internal teams and work as a team player
  • Assess feature requests and develop technical solution
  • Write effective, scalable, and testable code
  • Integrate user-facing elements into applications
  • Improve functionality of the existing systems
  • Test and debug programs.
  • Identifying and fixing production bugs

What do we expect of you?

  • Recent degree in computer science, or equivalent subject.
  • Familiar with at least one popular Java framework e.g. Spring, Netty
  • Familiar with Object Relational Mapper (ORM) e.g. Hibernate
  • Familiar with front-end technologies and frameworks like Angular, React, Vue, Next.js, etc.
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good Communication skills both technical and non-technical
  • Passion for simplifying processes.
  • Familiar with relational databases and their design e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.
  • Beneficial to know about NoSQL databases e.g. DynamoDB, Cassandra, Mongo etc.
