About the role

Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence, the Graduate Data Scientist will support the development of data-driven insights, predictive models, and analytical solutions that help improve business performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent postgraduate to apply advanced analytical techniques in a commercial environment while developing their skills alongside experienced data professionals.

The successful candidate will contribute to projects across marketing, sales, pricing, and customer analytics, helping the business make informed decisions and identify opportunities for growth as we migrate to Microsoft Fabric.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of customer value, segmentation, and predictive models.
  • Assist in analysing customer, sales, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the design, build, testing, and deployment of machine learning and statistical models.
  • Support pricing and commercial analysis through data exploration and modelling techniques.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to understand analytical requirements and business challenges.
  • Help develop dashboards, visualisations, and reporting solutions that communicate insights effectively.
  • Participate in test-and-learn initiatives to measure the effectiveness of business strategies and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to improve data quality, reporting, and analytical capabilities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay up to date with developments in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and analytics.

Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Data Science (or closely related subject such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Analytics).
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data modelling, and machine learning concepts.
  • Experience using Python and/or R through academic projects, internships, or personal development.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and transform data into actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn, develop, and build a career within data science.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of cloud analytics platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of predictive modelling, customer analytics, or commercial analytics.
  • Experience of applying machine learning techniques through university projects or internships.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
