Boeing is looking for a Government Affairs Intern to be based in Westminster, London.
Boeing's UK & Ireland Government Affairs team's function is to understand and shape public policy and the political landscape in UK and Ireland. Working closely with colleagues in the EU and internationally, the team covers a very large portfolio of policy issues of significant importance to Boeing, across Boeing's business divisions (including commercial, defence and services) including but not limited to:
• Defence, Security and Space.
• Aviation and Aerospace industry.
• Environment and sustainability.
• Trade.
• Party Politics.

Position Responsibilities:
- Conducting research and analysis to understand current and future political landscape. This will inform the Government Affairs Team's strategy and advocacy, across the following subject areas:
- Party Politics
- Defence
- Aviation
- Industrial Strategy
- International Relations & Trade
- Sustainability
- Manage reporting requirements.
- Support senior leaders with bespoke, ad hoc projects often in support of business capture activities.
- Support set-piece engagement events, including those in the Houses of Parliament and Defence Trade Shows, such as the Royal International Air Tattoo.
The intern will be exposed to the following development opportunities:
- Understanding of senior leadership, management, strategy and decision making of an international multi-billion pound company (based in the Head Office, UK)
- Understanding of the key issues and challenges of the Defence and Aerospace sector
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of the machinations and structures of government
- Developing political acumen, and understanding of how the politics-of-the-day impacts on government policy
- Understanding the interactions of government and business
- Developing critical thinking, analysis and judgment skills.
- Developing influence, political and diplomatic skills.
- Potential travel to other European capitals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in politics and/or government.
- Bachelor's degree level completed or in progress (at least two years in), ideally in political, business or psychology themed subject.
- Ideally undergraduate or postgraduate still undergoing further education.
Relocation:
- This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Work Authorization:
