This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Global Tax Reporting Manager

We are looking for a hands-on Global Tax Reporting Manager to take full end-to-end ownership of Adyen’s growing portfolio of tax reportings.

This is an opportunity to design a scalable, future-proof function around the laid groundwork with active reports like FATCA, CRS and CESOP. You will have the freedom to leave your mark, moving beyond "just compliant" to design an automated, tech-driven tax reporting function where Tax meets Big Data— going far beyond the tax silo. You will partner with Engineering and Product teams to solve complex challenges, making this one of the most exciting and dynamic areas to work in today.

In this role you will sit at the intersection of legislation and execution. You act as the functional architect, defining the 'What' and 'Why' to empower our dedicated Engineering teams who build the 'How.' You champion the product lifecycle by translating tax requirements into technical roadmaps You will interpret regulations (e.g., for new obligations in Italy, Spain or other countries), define the data strategy, and collaborate with various data owners (Tax Data Analysts, Engineering, Product) to deliver the final report to the authorities.

You will report to the Global Head of Tax Reportings and be part of the Amsterdam tax team (headquarters), which is made up of colleagues in Indirect Tax, Wage Tax, Tax Transformation,Corporate income tax, Transfer Pricing and the Tax Regions.

What you will do
  • Own the end-to-end process: You are responsible for the entire lifecycle of a reporting regime. This means defining the logic, driving the technical implementation with data teams, validating the output, and physically lodging the returns.
  • Manage external relationships: You will be the primary point of contact for tax authorities regarding these data reportings, managing inquiries and audits as they arise. Additionally, you will manage relationships with external vendors/teams who assist with the final lodging of reports, ensuring they meet Adyen’s standards.
  • Interpret & design: You will monitor the regulatory landscape (FATCA/CRS, DAC7/DAC8, CESOP, local obligations like Italy/Spain/Poland) and translate complex legal changes into concrete technical actions.
  • Guide the technical implementation: You partner with Tax Data Analysts, Product, and Engineering teams to validate data sources and steer the development process. You ensure that your functional designs are accurately translated into automated reporting engines.
  • Optimize & scale: You will identify manual bottlenecks in our current filing processes and design automated solutions to improve them.
  • Bridge the gap: You will explain to Commercial teams why we need specific data from merchants, and explain to Tech teams how specific transaction flows impact our reporting obligations.
  • Expand your horizon: While your core focus is reporting, you are a flexible team player willing to pick up projects in other tax areas as the team grows.
Who you are
  • A go-getter: You are proactive, take ownership, and are not afraid to do the work yourself. You don’t wait for permission to fix a broken process.
  • Experienced: You have 2–6 years of experience in a tax reporting, operational tax, or compliance role, either within a Financial Services Institution (FSI), Big 4, Law Firm or other, but with a specific scope on FSI clients.
  • Subject matter expert: You have proven experience with AEOI reportings (FATCA/CRS) and EU Directives (DAC). Exposure to local transaction reportings (e.g. Italy, Spain) is a strong plus.
  • Tech-affinity: You don't need to be a developer or coder, but you understand how data flows and how systems talk to each other. You translate tax needs into clear functional logic, enabling the engineering team to build the technical solution.
  • A problem solver: You hate manual repetition. If you do a task twice, your instinct is to find a way to automate it for the third time.
  • Collaborative: You thrive in a high-paced environment where you collaborate with technical and commercial teams to solve unique challenges at scale.
