About The Role

The Global Solution Consultants Director will own the global strategy for Solution Consultants, shaping the vision and driving execution across EMEA, Americas and APAC for our .com, engineering and life sciences products. Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Customer Success, the team will build close partnerships with the Account Management and Customer Success Teams. It will provide expert domain and product knowledge for both pre-sales and post-sales support, with a primary focus on enabling the team to excel in pre-sales activities that drive new sales growth. The Director will define the function’s strategic direction, align priorities with business objectives and ensure measurable impact on customer success and commercial outcomes. Acting as a leader, you will influence cross-functional initiatives and have opportunities to represent the function at leadership planning and decision-making meetings where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global strategy for Solutions Consultants, aligned with Customer Success and Sales objectives with a primary emphasis on pre-sales support to drive revenue growth

  • Set long-term goals, priorities and success metrics for the function that include product demonstrations and customer engagement during the sales cycle

  • Influence organisational strategy through insights on customer needs, product capabilities and market & industry trends

  • Represent Solutions Consultants in leadership and strategic planning sessions when required

  • Partner with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Advanced Data Solutions (ADS) and Product to align the strategy with business growth objectives

  • Advocate for customer-centric innovation and contribute to product roadmap decisions

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team, ensuring scalability and operational excellence

 

Requirements

  • Experience of strategic leadership within Customer Success, Account Management or similar roles

  • Proven ability to define and execute global strategies in complex, matrixed organisations

  • Strong understanding of Elsevier’s products and services or experience in related industries

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills

  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution

  • Languages beyond English would be beneficial
