About the position  

Location: London, UK

Contract : 6-9 months

Hybrid

To ensure excellence in project management by providing governance, risk management, and reporting for Upfield’s global project portfolio. You will quickly onboard to understand Upfield’s internal processes, becoming an expert across functions such as supply chain, factory operations, and import/export logistics. Your work will support the seamless execution of projects, ensuring that they are aligned with the company’s growth and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Project Management: Lead the day-to-day governance of a global project portfolio, ensuring alignment with Upfield’s strategic priorities and business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal functions like supply chain, procurement, logistics, and factory operations to support the successful execution of projects.
  • Rapid Expertise Development: Onboard quickly and gain a deep understanding of internal operations, with a focus on key FMCG processes such as supply chain management, imports/exports, and factory operations.
  • Governance and Reporting: Develop and maintain strong reporting mechanisms to track project performance, risks, and financials, providing key insights to senior leadership.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify risks and issues across global projects, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure minimal disruption to timelines and objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing project management methodologies to ensure efficiency and compliance across all global projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across different regions and functions, ensuring project alignment and resolving any challenges.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role? 

  • Extensive PMO Experience: 8+ years of experience in PMO or project management roles, ideally within the FMCG or food retail sectors.
  • Global Collaboration: Strong experience working with geographically distributed teams across multiple regions, managing complex, global projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of key FMCG processes, including supply chain management, imports/exports, and factory operations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Agile & Waterfall Proficiency: Familiarity with both traditional and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Financial and Risk Management: Experience managing project budgets, financial tracking, and risk assessments.
