Your Role 

 

As a Global Player Content Editor at Global, you’ll help create and deliver brilliant content experiences across Global Player, our multi-brand radio, podcast, video and playlist app. Working closely with programming teams, online editors and station leaders, you’ll maintain high editorial standards, manage content and playlists, and use insight to help grow listener engagement across our brands. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create and manage app content: Develop, create and maintain high-quality content across Global Player, ensuring an engaging user experience across multiple brands. 

  • Own playlist and scheduling activity: Manage a pool of Live Playlists using music scheduling software, reviewing performance and using insight to expand and improve the listener offering. 

  • Represent brand content within Global Player: Act as the key contact for at least one radio brand, attending regular meetings and helping deliver engaging brand-led content within the app. 

  • Support MyRadio content and reporting: Help ensure high-quality audio delivery within MyRadio, producing regular reports for Heads of Station and meeting strict deadlines.

What Success Looks Like 

In your first few months, you’ll have: 

  • Built strong working relationships with programming teams, online editors and Heads of Station 

  • Developed a solid understanding of Global Player, MyRadio and how content is managed across the app 

  • Taken ownership of your assigned Live Playlists and used insight to improve content performance 

  • Represented at least one radio brand effectively within team meetings and app planning 

  • Delivered accurate, high-quality reporting to deadlines 

 

What You’ll Need 

  • Essential experience in music scheduling, particularly using Selector/GSelector 

  • Strong interest in digital content and the future development of Global Player 

  • Good journalistic experience, particularly in content generation 

  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using data and insight to improve content performance 

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, especially Excel or Google Sheets 

  • Confidence creating clear, detailed reports and presentations in Keynote or PowerPoint 

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines 

  • A proactive approach and confidence finding solutions and new ways to improve the product 

  • A passion for content curation and working as part of a collaborative team 

  • Experience with audio editing software such as Adobe Audition or Pro Tools would be an advantage 

  • Flexibility to take part in a weekend rota, with time off in lieu provided
