Job title: Global Testing & Laboratories Director, Product Certification.
Reports to: Group Director, Product Certification
Location: UK, between laboratories in Hemel Hempstead and Loughborough
(On site attendance at each laboratory is required weekly. This is a full time on-site position.)
The Purpose of the Role:

Our clients accelerate their progress by gaining access to new or global markets through CE marking, UKCA marking, Benchmark, or ESMA, as we help them meet local regulations and ensure product compliance across borders. This gives their consumers’ confidence in the outstanding quality, safety and trustworthiness of their products with BSI Kitemark certification.
You can be part of leading that work as our Global Testing & Laboratories Director, leading the enablement of our clients to get products to market and comply with the latest requirements with comprehensive testing and certification.
The Successful Applicant will:
- have considerable experience in managing testing laboratories (labs), including maintenance and health & safety in lab environments.
- be an experienced project manager with a broad technical understanding of industry/products testing.
- have strong, motivational and pro-active people leadership skills & a proven track record of coaching & managing senior technical teams.
- be experienced in managing profit & loss ledgers
- be a strategic thinker with a commercial perspective & improvement focussed approach.
- work with a full, clear digitisation agenda.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Lead & manage all testing, maintenance & calibration experts. Support teams to ensure compliant delivery & the meeting of regulatory & accreditation obligations.
- Provide strategic & tactical advice & support to the business unit (BU). Develop & deliver against robust resource plans.
- Drive innovation & the use of the latest technologies. Have a full, clear digitisation agenda. Oversee the development & continual improvement of the BU.
- Set, review & report on KPIs, manage P&L.
- Collaborate on new projects to build CAPEX/OPEX.
