Reports to: Group Director, Product Certification
Location: UK homebased with regular travel to laboratories in Hemel Hempstead and Loughborough
The Purpose of the Role:
BSI exists to have a positive impact on society, one of the ways we do that is through product certification. Our work helps our client access markets, comply, innovate & differentiate through certification.
Clients accelerate their progress by gaining access to new or global markets through CE marking, UKCA marking, Benchmark, or ESMA, as we help them meet local regulations and ensure product compliance across borders. This gives their consumers’ confidence in the outstanding quality, safety and trustworthiness of their products with BSI Kitemark certification.
You can be part of leading that work as our Global Certification Director, leading the enablement of our clients to get products to market and comply with the latest requirements with comprehensive certification and testing.
The Successful Applicant will:
- have thorough knowledge of certification regulation & conformity assessment, with a broad technical understanding of industry/products certification & testing.
- be experienced in working with Subject Matters Experts in a commercial environment in the regulatory industry.
- be a strategic thinker with a commercial perspective & collaborative approach.
- have strong, motivational and coaching people leadership skills.
- have excellent communication skills, including presentation skills, and be improvement minded.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Maintain the Product Certification Business Unit (BU) notified body status.
- Lead & manage the successful completion all of 17065 accreditation audits, and the BU’s certification & technical experts & support teams.
- Provide strategic & tactical advice & support to the BU. Develop & deliver against robust resource plans.
- Collaborate to ensure any nonconformities are rectified quickly & completely.
- Management of all certification schemes and ensuring they are updated to latest regulations, accreditation, standards, and certification requirements.
- Meet Revenue and Gross Profit targets.
