We are looking for an experienced Global Payroll Lead to handle payroll operations across multiple regions in a dynamic, growth-focused environment. As part of our global HR team, you’ll work to ensure smooth, efficient payroll processes with a focus on technology and a positive employee experience. This role requires hands-on expertise and a solid understanding of payroll practices across various locations.

This role is based out of the London office with an expectation to work in the office a portion of each week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Global Payroll Leadership: Lead payroll operations and initiatives, including onboarding new countries, ensuring consistent and efficient payroll processes worldwide.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll for the US and EMEA regions, utilizing Workday in-house systems and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Process Optimization: Review current global payroll processes and recommend enhancements for ongoing efficiency through technology and automation.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee global payroll vendor services, assess current contracts, and solicit bids for services to ensure optimal delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Workday Configuration & System Integrations: Partner with HRIS to configure and test Workday Payroll, monitor updates, and research potential enhancements affecting global payroll processing.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and coach the payroll team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Policy & Compliance Management: Ensure payroll policies and procedures remain compliant with federal, state, and international regulations; proactively update documentation on HR platforms like Confluence.
  • Special Projects & Support: Provide support on special projects and any additional duties as assigned to continuously improve payroll services.
  • Other Duties as Assigned or Needed

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Experience & Education: At least 5 years of payroll experience or equivalent education and experience combination.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in payroll systems, especially Workday, and familiarity with HR-related platforms like SharePoint and Confluence.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of payroll practices, compliance requirements, and federal/state regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excel & Analytical Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and analytical skills to improve processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to manage ambiguity, proactively solve problems, and drive process improvement in an evolving environment.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proactive Learning & Improvement: Eager to master HR best practices and identify opportunities to optimize payroll operations.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication ability to convey complex information in a simple, clear manner, working effectively with all organizational levels, including executives.
  • Self-Motivated & Curious: A self-starter with intellectual curiosity and the initiative to drive improvements.
  • Multi-tasking Ability: Comfortable prioritizing multiple projects in a dynamic, demanding environment.
