Role Summary
The Controllers organization provides financial information for Pfizer Inc. to management, shareholders, and regulators. As part of the Core Operations department of Controllers, the Global Mark-Up Exchange (GMX) group provides an integrated cost, intercompany transfer price, inventory, and markup system. The GMX team and process provides management with data used for both internal and external financial reporting through extensive collaboration with business partners to ensure intercompany commerce is not disrupted.
The GMX Inventory team is primarily responsible for:

  • Inventory Cube & Data Submission Management - Manage the Global Inventory Cube and monthly Inventory Data Submissions including ownership of associated processes and ensuring compliance and data quality
  • Inventory Reporting & Analysis - Management and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual global inventory reporting & analysis activities


This position collaborates with GMX team members and is the point of contact for key inventory and working capital stakeholders across the organization. The role requires close interconnectivity with the Master Data team to manage downstream impacts and a high-level of engagement with Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Finance and regional teams globally covering all business units to provide local market inventory support. The colleague will coordinate with the Inventory and Reporting & Analytics Lead and Submissions Team to provide inventory data and analysis to the Sr. Inventory Lead, PGS Finance and the broader Pfizer finance organization globally.
This role will be based in Pfizer's Enabling Function Hub in Tampa, Florida. Pfizer's Enabling Functions Hubs serve to bring internal professional services such as Finance, HR, Digital, and Sourcing together into a consolidated and simplified shared services structure. Colleagues in the Enabling Functions Hubs execute end-to-end operational activities that can be standardized and scaled for greater enterprise synergies and effectiveness. The work managed from these hubs will evolve and expand over time as Enabling Functions continue to evaluate their go-forward delivery model. Role Responsibilities
Inventory Cube & Data Submission

  • Assist in the GMX monthly inventory data collection and develop interaction models to effectively assist markets and multiple organizations within Pfizer in resolving processing issues; ensure GMX team members are executing responsibilities in line with established SOPs and scope of deliverables related to the Global Inventory Cube.
  • Ensuring compliance and data quality associated with the Global Inventory Cube submission and reporting processes, per established SOPs and scope of deliverables
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Global Accounting, market, and plant colleagues to resolve issues and complete submission processes
  • Supporting the provision of guidance and support to markets and sites representing all global legal entities including PGS manufacturing plants to ensure timely and accurate Global Inventory Cube submissions
  • Support the accuracy and completeness with local ledgers of the financial information from all legal entities and business units across the globe within the Global Inventory Cube
  • Establishing effective relationships and maintaining constant interaction with ERP Teams to address issues and enhance system interdependencies. Delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual inventory reporting requirements
  • Design and implement standard analytics to provide greater understanding of Inventory movement and present to Senior Management, including the Core Operations leader & SVP Controller, as part of review of quarterly financial results.
  • Support the long-term inventory calculations with Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) and own analysis by location Support Senior Manager with (corporate/statistical/mark up) related issues in conjunction with ongoing business activities (working capital, tax strategies, legal entity mergers, acquisitions/divestitures)
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of inventory balances on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to identify significant increases/decreases and primary factors driving changes. Develop and utilize metrics to provide end-to-end visibility and clarity, thereby enabling informed decision-making by management


General/Leadership

  • Maintain inventory SOPs, work instructions and process maps to ensure processes are performed, implementing and communicating necessary changes
  • Participate in assigned projects as the Inventory subject matter expert leveraging strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement best practices


Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting
  • 5 years of experience in a financial reporting capacity within a large multi-national company
  • Leadership experience (direct or indirect)
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a complex matrixed organization
  • Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to partner, lead and influence others without having a direct reporting relationship
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial systems/processes, controls, and ability to translate strategies into financial concepts
  • Good knowledge of product costing, transfer pricing and intercompany financial and physical flows
  • Understanding of intercompany inventory Cost of Sales (COS) and profit in inventory reserves and eliminations is required to ensure accurate external and internal financial reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems, such as FCCS, SAP/S4H and SAP-BI.
  • Problem Solver - Lead 'root-cause' efforts, from identification to resolution, of breakdowns in the monthly processes
  • Able to clearly communicate complex financial and process-related information to key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to act decisively, seize accountability and be change agile
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, capacity to quickly identify problems and structure solutions, and to plan and prioritize work on multiple projects, while maintaining high quality and meeting or exceeding deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, among others
  • Proficient and demonstrated experience in project management discipline including the formation of a plan, tracking of progress, organization of team, assignment of responsibilities and delivery of status updates to leadership

  • MBA and/or CPA
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $86,800.00 to $144,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
