Team/Role Overview

The individual will work in the Liquidity Coverage Team within Liquidity Management (LM), which is a part of Citi’s Global Treasury Function.

The Liquidity Coverage Team is the primary point of contact for many of liquidity deliverables. The team has substantial daily interactions with legal entity Treasurers and Risk Managers and facilitates the implementation of Policy and Procedure requirements for liquidity deliverables across the firm with a focus on streamlining and standardising deliverables to achieve consistency where appropriate. The work of the team includes daily, monthly, quarterly and annual BAU liquidity deliverables, as well as various ad-hoc processes and improvement projects. There are primarily four aspects to this role:

1. Working on the Horizontal Liquidity Reviews. This includes coordinating liquidity deliverables for over 80 Citi entities.

2. Updating Liquidity Processes and Procedures.

3. Improving the Legal Entity Liquidity Monitoring Framework for Citi.

4. Calibrating Early Warning Indicators (EWIs) for the Citigroup Contingency Funding Plan (CFP) as well as oversight of CFP actions.

This is a global role and gives the individual a unique opportunity to gain exposure to Citi’s balance sheet and legal entities and to develop an understanding of liquidity management processes.

What you’ll do

  • Coordination of FX Limits across Citi.
  • Central Bank Facilities – coordination of Central Bank Facilities template and ensuring all central bank facilities are classified correctly.
  • HQLA Operational Capability Assessments – developing templates to streamline submissions and increase accuracy and transparency.
  • Limits and Triggers – reviews of submissions to ensure appropriate guidelines have been followed.
  • Funding and Liquidity Plans (FLPs) – developing the FLP Model as needed and updated Model Risk documentations as applicable.
  • Quarterly Fungible liquidity attestations – coordination of the quarterly attestation of fungible liquidity status across Citi and reviewing changes.
  • Fungible liquidity reporting – updating the Global Liquidity Reporting System for all user access.
  • Contingency Funding Plans (CFP) – updating templates in accordance with the Procedures and best practice and ensuring collection of all reviews and approvals.
  • Annual Intraday Liquidity Documentation – ensuring collection of all reviews and approvals.
  • HQLA Allocations – collection of all reviews and approvals.
  • Annual and Semi-annual update of the Liquidity Policy and Procedures.
  • Timelines and Governance for Liquidity Deliverables – working with key partners in Risk and Treasury to ensure timelines and governance for all horizontal and vertical liquidity deliverables are appropriate.
  • Improving the Legal Entity Liquidity Monitoring Framework, this includes elements of Project Managements.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

What we’ll need from you

  • Strong quantitative skills in order to calibrate EWIs, update models and related templates.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Must have advanced analytical skills.
  • Excellent written skills as well as organisation skills in order to update Policies and Procedures.
  • The ideal candidate will also likely have knowledge of liquidity concepts and metrics such as LCR, NSFR and internal stress testing.
  • The individual needs to be an innovative self-starter, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate with various groups. 
  • Experience in Treasury, Finance, Risk or Audit would be helpful.
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, accounting or related fields; advanced degree is a plus.
