The Role
Adyen is seeking a Global Head of Sales Development to lead and develop our worldwide Sales Development Representative (SDR) team. This role is critical in driving pipeline generation by refining our inbound and outbound strategy as well as coaching a high-performing global team. Operating in a matrix organization, you will work closely with regional SDR leads and cross-functional teams to optimize lead generation, enhance sales development processes, and foster a performance-driven culture. This is a strategic leadership position requiring strong collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations.
What You’ll Do
- Iterate and execute on the global SDR strategy to drive consistent pipeline growth and revenue impact.
- Drive commercial engine collaboration, embedding into local nuances.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of SDR leaders and representatives across multiple regions.
- Establish best practices for inbound and outbound lead generation, qualification tactics, and engagement strategies.
- Design and implement data-driven processes and playbooks to optimize SDR performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to refine lead qualification criteria and enhance alignment on pipeline goals.
- Drive innovation in sales development by fostering a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and adaptability.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team effectiveness, iterating on strategies as needed.
- Act as a thought leader within Adyen, aligning SDR efforts with broader commercial priorities and go-to-market initiatives.
Who You Are
- A seasoned commercial leader with a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, business development or commercial roles.
- At least 5 years of experience leading SDR/BDR teams, including managing team leads.
- Proven experience working within a matrixed organization and leading without direct reporting lines.
- Highly data-driven, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and drive informed decision-making.
- Deep knowledge of outbound prospecting, inbound lead qualification, and sales development best practices.
- Skilled in coaching and upskilling SDR teams and leaders to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- A collaborative leader who can align cross-functional teams and navigate change in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across various levels.
Location & Work Expectations
- This role is based in Amsterdam or New York.
- Adyen values in-person collaboration, and we are an office-first company.
- International travel up to 20% of your time may be required.
Compensation
- The base salary for this role in New York ranges from $245,000 to $300,000, plus RSUs and eligibility for a target bonus.
