Job Description:

Digital Commerce (DCom) is set to represent 35%+ of all CPG sales in the not-too-distant future. Mars Wrigley has an ambition to more than triple its DCom sales over the coming years and lead the online Snacking category by developing world class partnerships, industry leading capabilities, and top talent. To execute this strategy, we created a Global Center of Acceleration (CoA), that works with markets, regions, and cross-functional partners to develop strategies and plans to fuel faster growth.

 

The Global DCom New Business Development Manager will play a key role in helping Mars Wrigley win the winners of tomorrow that are driving incremental DCom growth (e.g., Social Commerce, Group-Buying Marketplaces, SuperApps, etc.). Key responsibilities include, leading the Mars Wrigley global customer relationship and joint business plan with TikTok Shop, prospecting new global partnerships with priority emerging digital commerce customers/platforms, and building selling tools and processes for frontline key account teams to support faster in-year growth.

 

The role will operate with agile principles, partnering with the DCom Sales Director to build a backlog of now & next growth opportunities to pursue, with an aim to deliver value quickly for Mars Wrigley Customers, Regions and Markets.

 

This role must be expert at partnering with Customers, building relationships & driving new business development, managing ambiguity, and being self-reliant & resourceful."

Customer

  • Lead customer engagement and the global joint business plan with TikTok Shop, the undisputed leader in the fast-growing Social Commerce channel.
  • Drive new business development with emerging digital sales models (e.g., Temu, Whatsapp, etc.) and platforms to assess global growth potential and create first-mover advantage.
  • Support must-win global customers (e.g., Walmart, Tesco, Carrefour) with customized concept sells to showcase digital thought-leadership and co-create new digital models together.

Capability

  • Survey needs of frontline sales teams to design new frameworks, tools, and processes to enable in-year results delivery.
  • Initiate pilots with innovative vendors to bring “plug and play” DCom selling solutions with global scale potential to Customers, Regions, and Markets.

Community

  • Build the digital new business global community, spanning the US DCom Business Development team, Europe DCom Incubator, and China to share best practices.
  • Codify the principles of execution for emerging digital sales models, and embed guidance across all Regions.

Job Requirements

  • University Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in FMCG/CPG sales & marketing, and/or digital commerce
  • Track record of high-quality customer/partner collaboration and delivery of quality business results (sales, share, margin, incremental distribution, test & learns etc.).
  • Robust digital commerce acumen across operations, economics, and keys to successful partnership, and ability to learn new models and concepts quickly.
  • Strong executive writing skills (e.g., able to craft punchy, data-driven stories in 1-2 pages) and storytelling abilities (e.g., inspiring presentations and good stage presence).
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization with complex stakeholder groups.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple timelines, workflows, and stakeholders from project start to finish.
  • Grasp of agile principles and design thinking methodology to iteratively build new models with lean resourcing and quick pace.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a high impact individual contributor that can manage multiple different work flows simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits.  Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
