Job Description
This role supports Global Corporate Banking by driving efforts to understand, challenge, and continuously improve risk and control design and execution. As a member of the Business Operations team that has locations across the globe, you will be responsible for key control and operational risk management oversight, identifying areas for control enhancement and process improvement, and act as the single point of contact for all functional control partners.
As a Global Corporate Banking Business Operations Manager - Vice President in Business Operations you will be the first line of defense for Global Corporate Banking (GCB), Business Operations prevents, detects and monitors operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. In support of operational excellence, you will play a key role in meeting our client commitments and act as a driving force behind the strategic priorities that will future proof our business in an ever-changing global landscape. You will own key risk and control topics impacting the business including strategic vision, process, governance, training, and guidance. This will be achieved through fostering a proactive risk and control culture, which identifies opportunities to initiate new control capabilities or enhance existing control programs. Examples of control programs which this role may oversee include Regulation K, Cross Border, and Legal Entity Signing Authority. The role reports directly to the Head of Control Programs for GCB and partners extensively across the Business Operations team, functional control partners, front office teams, and cross-line of business peers.
Job responsibilities

  • Drives work, manages fast-paced projects, and creatively and pragmatically solves problems
  • Leads and engages stakeholders across the business in key projects and initiatives, within GCB and across control functions
  • Facilitates interaction and strong connectivity across the GCB Business Operations team, sub-lines of businesses and functional partners, and centralized governance teams
  • Builds and maintain relationships with banking teams, credit teams, and key partners across the business and supporting functions (e.g., Legal Finance, Compliance, Risk) and geographies
  • Performs data analysis to support and drive key initiatives and projects as assigned
  • Prepares and deliver presentation materials to be shared with senior management and other relevant stakeholders
  • Identifies and partner with others to develop operational processes, implement control points and build procedures for emerging areas, and identify opportunities to improve existing frameworks. Be positioned to support audit and regulatory inquiries
  • Identifies, assesses, advises, and drives strategic solutions through end-to-end project management to create a better business with increased efficiency and more resilient operating environment
  • Leads top-down risk analysis, real time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation; including governing document analysis against existing control framework
  • Educates the business around emerging risks, requirements, and processes through developing trainings and crafting internal communications


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent with background in program, project or control-oriented role (Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Strategy, Business Management, Consulting or other like-experience)
  • Ability to work independently across various levels in the organization and influence and drive change
  • Ability to think critically, develop structure, and solve problems in a pragmatic and balanced way with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Organized and able to balance and prioritize multiple deliverables with a strong desire to drive execution
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with an ability to inspire others on the team
  • Delivers messages effectively through oral and written communication (including PowerPoint presentations)
  • Motivated and able to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; acute attention to detail required
  • Analytical skills to assess quantitative and qualitative data, identify operational risk, and draw salient conclusions


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Passion for learning new operating models, technologies, and industry trends
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of control/program expertise
  • Desire to drive process improvement
  • Excels in using Microsoft suite, PitchPro+ , and able to quickly learn various other tools/platforms
  • Knowledge of the financial industry, Global Corporate Banking sub-LOB, Functional areas, and/or Product is a plus
