At Convatec, our Global Corporate Affairs team plays an integral part of bringing to life Convatec’s vision of pioneering trusted medical solutions to improve the lives we touch and our brand promise to be forever caring.

The successful Global Corporate Affairs Editorial & Content Lead will join a fast-paced, high impact and growing team at the heart of the business, adept at partnering with colleagues at all levels to make an important contribution to the successful planning, design and execution of our company-wide communications and corporate affairs priorities, and be committed to delivering high quality work and building lasting relationships with stakeholders.  

This role will provide dedicated support to a broad range of editorial, storytelling and content creation projects and activities. The balance of work will be geared to internal communications with a growing focus on external communications materials over time.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications editorial 

  • Lead the production of high-quality, engaging content across various channels and audiences, with a particular focus on impactful internal, corporate and creative communications
  • Support execution excellence in the delivery of Convatec’s communications cadence, messaging, proofing, and editorial oversight
  • Shape and implement strategic content, including drafting multi-media materials, across channels/tools, and evaluating communication activities
  • Develop communications materials for issues and incidents as required
  • Develop targeted external communications content such as social media posts, aligned to internal and external activity and messaging
  • Support translation of the external environment into broader business communications messaging and narrative
  • Project manage specific company-wide communications, including global awareness campaigns (e.g., employee feedback survey)
  • Play an active role in the team as we continue to strive to deliver engaging and best in class communications support for the company
  • Collaborate with a range of Business Units and functions to deliver agreed communications activity aligned to priorities
  • Manage the implementation and cascade of key content, working with colleagues in Global Corporate Affairs and relevant leadership teams
  • Provide advice, constructive challenge, and day-to-day support for agreed deliverables and colleagues seeking support.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience of ~8 years in communications roles 
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills for a range of audiences 
  • Experience in the development and execution of drafting, receiving and executing project and creative briefs across internal and external communications projects
  • Experience of working within a corporate communications function in a global, matrix organisation, ideally including experience in a business partner role
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, compelling and high-quality content for engaging communications programmes and activities  
  • Ability to blend strategic thought, creativity and framing with tactical delivery 
  • Deliver communication plans that achieve clear and measurable outcomes  
  • Ability to build effective relationships and strong rapport with a wide range of colleagues, including leaders  
  • Strong communications skills with an ability to flex styles depending on purpose/audience  
  • A strong team player, who is used to working collaboratively and is willing to challenge in a direct but collegiate style, with tact and diplomacy  
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Comfortable working at pace  
  • Proactive and self-directed  
  • Experience in project management, working with multiple deadlines simultaneously  
  • Advanced Microsoft office package user across range of applications and tools 
  • Familiar with AI/productivity tools 
  • Experience in the health and life sciences industry is a bonus, but not essential

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Occasional travel may be required, depending on projects/activities.
  • The position is a hybrid role with an anticipated office attendance in our London Paddington office of 1-3 days per week at a maximum
