Our Insurance Accounting team is at the heart of insurance financial operations and treat all insurance portfolio related transactions. As a motivated accounting professional within the insurance accounting team, you will not only be in charge of day-to-day and closing operations, but we also rely on your dedication and ideas to improve flows using modern tools. What does your job as a GL Accountant look like?
- End-to-end accounting management of the flows/backoffices under your responsibility.
- Preparation of journal entries and active participation in the monthly closing process.
- Reconcile, match and document GL accounts under your responsibility.
- Ensure timely submission and payment of tax declarations.
- Work in compliance with company procedures and insurance/tax regulations.
- Gather and collect data within the organization to ensure proper and timely reporting.
- Maintain regular contact with the operational teams to share and resolve issues identified during the reconciliation process.
- Identify process optimization opportunities in a constantly evolving environment.
- Actively contribute to the development of new tools to optimize flows and controls.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to explain account details.

- You have strong communication skills and enjoy teamwork.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in finance with an accounting background.
- You are precise, rigorous, well-organized, with strong analytical skills and you enjoy working under deadline pressure.
- You know very well Excel. You are open to learn new technologies, such as Power BI and Power Apps.
- You are results-oriented and constantly seek for improvements to modernize processes and enhance productivity.
- You manage stress well and you are open for change.
- You have an excellent knowledge of English, with Dutch or French.
