Job Description

As a German Tax Operations Associate within our Private Banking team, you will oversee and will be actively engaged in enhancing processes related to the withholding and reporting of taxes for our private banking clients. You will ensure compliance with German tax regulations, support tax reporting and filing processes.
Job responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day tax operations related to withholding taxes for private banking clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant German tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and review reports and filings for withholding taxes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance for client accounts.
  • Monitor changes in German tax legislation and assess their impact on the bank's operations and client portfolios.
  • Support on withholding and reporting tax matters to internal stakeholders, including client relationship managers and legal teams.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics tools to enhance tax reporting and compliance processes for client accounts.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of technology-driven solutions to streamline tax operations.
  • Support the Tax Operations Manager in various projects and initiatives as needed.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in German tax operations, ideally within a private bank or financial institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of German tax laws, regulation and financial products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and independently with cross-functional teams, managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in tax software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • A Master's degree or professional tax qualification (e.g., Steuerberater) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of other European tax regulations and CRS/FATCA is considered a plus.
  • Experience with technology-driven solutions and product management in tax operations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the tax engine CPB - Sectras is a plus.
