The General Ledger Accountant is a key member of the General Ledger (GL) Accounting team, which ensures financial integrity in areas including compensation and benefits, fixed assets, intangibles, intercompany, leases, prepaids and other assets. This role will join an innovative team focused on close optimisation and enhancing close governance. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager-GL, this position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of transactions consistent with company policy and general accounting principles

  • Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical review

  • Assist with the annual local statutory reporting process by creating US GAAP to local GAAP adjustments and financial statements, and supporting audits

  • Collaborate with business partners to gain insights into new activities and provide financial guidance

  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations

  • Participate in special projects, including process improvement initiatives.

  • Handle additional tasks as needed to support the team's overall objectives and key results

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years prior general accounting experience

  • Knowledge of both US GAAP and Local GAAP

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • Alternatively, an associate degree in accounting and 5-7 years of progressive general accounting experience will be considered

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, CPA, or RA qualified or equivalent

  • Public accounting experience

  • Experience with local statutory reporting, including understanding local GAAP, preparing statutory adjustments and financial statements, and engaging with auditors, is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and internal controls

  • Proficient in accounting software (Blackline, BNA, Coupa, Intacct, Workiva, or Workday experience preferred)

  • Advanced computer skills (Google and/or MS Office suites), including spreadsheet data analysis

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet goals and targets

  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, addressing issues methodically with keen attention to detail and critical thinking

  • Self-motivated with a propensity for action, results, and continuous improvement

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills

  • High level of integrity

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Less than 10% travel for internal meetings.

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office.
