What’s the role about?

As part of our Womenswear Production & Technical department, you’ll be joining as our Garment Technologist who is responsible for casual bottoms and denim product category, ensuring a consistent fit throughout the collection, monitoring and elevating garment quality and constantly evaluating and improving the fit of garment.


Who you are

  • Previous experience operating as Garment Technologist in casual bottoms and denim
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, fitting, and grading
  • Understanding of testing, analysing test reports and garment care
  • Ability to demonstrate confidence and assertiveness when communicating technical requirements, both internally and externally
  • Well organized, able to work to tight deadlines and excellent communication skills- written and oral
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel


What you’ll be doing

  • Working with designers/buying to make sure the design suits production methods across multi product categories
  • Checking and approving sample garments and making any changes needed, including correcting faults
  • Writing detailed tech comments for suppliers/factories to follow
  •  Control and maintain consistency of product categories across the Womenswear collection, carry out regular block and sizing reviews with all relevant teams, wherever necessary
  • Control and maintain consistent fit across product, take on board feedback back from return meetings to improve overall return rates
  • Conducting store visits to assess product in store and to speak to store staff to get feedback on product
  • Conducting comp shops and benchmarking our Reiss product against competitors
  • Approving test reports for wash care instructions, challenging suppliers to help improvements 
  • Communicating with suppliers on production queries or issues
  • Attending risk assessments/fabric meetings
