We are looking for an early career game user research intern who is passionate about video games to join our Games User Research team in central London. This is a great opportunity to gain industry experience, work across many genres and learn from seasoned industry experts.

Joining Tencent Games, you will work alongside award winning studios, making some of the most popular games in the world. Your mission will be to support these studios to deliver on their intended experience by providing timely insights from members of their target audience.

Please note that this opportunity requires you to be in our Shoreditch office full time. Most of our research is conducted in person, in a dedicated lab.

What You Will Be Doing:

1. Assist senior researchers in delivering end-to-end research projects using methods such as in-depth interviews, usability tests, multi-day playtests, diary studies, heuristic reviews or surveys.

2. Assist projects and gain experience on every phase of a study: stakeholder engagement, preparation, fieldwork, analysis, and delivery.

3. Support preparation for data gathering, working on discussion guides and surveys.

4. Support the smooth running of our lab in London.

5. Manage participants to and around the lab and ensure unbiased feedback is being gathered.

6. Process and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources.

7. Identify actionable insights and ensure they are communicated clearly.

8. Take on more responsibilities as you learn and grow into the role.

Who We Look For

1. Degree in human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology or a field with a relevant focus on qualitative research is preferred. Early in your career and keen to learn from the industry.

2. Good communicator, you can express complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.

3. Comfortable adapting to dynamic situations, especially when game builds don't always behave as expected.

4. Comfortable around PCs and basic troubleshooting skills.

5. You are a gamer, up to date with a variety of genres.

6. You are passionate about games user research and assessing the player experience.
