Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting an FX Data and Analytics Analyst to join our Foreign Exchange front office team.

Position Summary:

The FX Data and Analytics team sits in the Foreign Exchange Trading Department located at our London office. The team is responsible for all data initiatives for the department, maintaining and continuously evolving a state-of-the-art data environment. We predominantly use KDB+ and Python and are looking for an individual who has mid-level experience working with KDB+ and a genuine interest in financial markets. This is an opportunity for a candidate with strong technical skills and a passion for data engineering to work in a front office trading environment and evolve our extensive analytics that span the entire Foreign Exchange business. The role will have daily interaction with trading, etrading, relationship management, product teams and risk teams depending on the data intiative they are working on. Projects include but aren't limited to Transaction Cost Analysis, Performance Attribution, Business Intelligence, Data Science and Business Modelling. At BBH we are looking to data to help understand and drive our business forward. As an FX execution outsourcing partner data initiatives help us to act as a thought leader and an integral partner in this growing industry where clients look to their providers for essential guidance and insight to the complex nature of Foreign Exchange products. Candidate Responsibilities:

Be part of a Business and Technology team to support and maintain the exiting ticker plant, real-time database, historical database, and gateways for the FX Business

Support, maintain and extend the existing KDB data plant for FX business analytics & business intelligence needs

Be an owner and work with stakeholders from trading, etrading, relationship management, product and risk on new data science initiatives 

Continue development of tools for backtesting and simulating model performance

Assess and execute internal and external requests for FX data; determine optimal software tools and methods for automation

Attend client and vendor meetings; assist in formulating solutions to meet BBH and our client needs

Play an important role in assuring FX data integrity; help improve the dynamic mix of referential FX data across our enterprise

Be consistently alert to current FX industry initiatives and data technology trends that impact BBH
 

Candidate Qualifications include:

4 year STEM college degree from an accredited institution

2+ years of KDB+ development experience

Understanding of KDB+ architecture including ticker plant, real-time database, historical database, and gateways

Solid Math and Statistics

Knowledge of one or more a plus Python, SQL, Advanced Excel, BI tools such as Qlik, Spotfire & KX Dashboards

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

First class organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities

Genuine interest in the global financial markets
