The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced independent Sports content Producer to join us on a project-by-project basis for various productions. We need a creative, self-starting professional who excels at managing production from inception to delivery.

As an independent operator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of sports content projects. You should be comfortable working autonomously, bringing high-level production expertise and a "hands-on" approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end production processes for sports-focused projects.

  • Lead the creative and operational execution, ensuring high-quality storytelling and technical excellence.

  • Oversee production timelines, budgeting, and resource management.

  • Develop and pitch sports content concepts with our commercial and creative team.

  • Plan, shoot and deliver platform-native social video and longer form content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.

  • Source and manage crew, editors, athletes, creators and suppliers.

  • Handle production logistics for shoots and live events, including locations, travel, permits, and health and safety.

  • Work with our social media team to package content for the Wavelength network of social channels and for client and partner channels.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Sports Producer with a strong portfolio of high-quality content.

  • Must be an independent operator/freelancer.

  • Exceptional ability to manage complex production workflows from development through to post-production.

  • Strong understanding of current sports content trends and audience engagement strategies.

  • Experience producing social-first video, with a good understanding of how content performs on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.

  • A reliable network of crew, editors and suppliers that you can bring to a project.

  • Experience delivering branded or commissioned content to a client brief for brands, sports organisations or broadcasters.

Working with Wavelength:

This is a freelance, project-by-project engagement. You will work directly with our team and we agree on the scope, rate and timelines for each project in advance.
