Hi there! We are Testlio, a global software testing company with its own freelance network. Our freelancers test apps from companies across the globe. Testlio is a great place for people who value the freedom and flexibility of remote work.

At the moment, we are looking for German-speaking freelance sofrware testers with various Smart TVs to participate in testing the launch of a new streaming platform coming to Austria at the end of the month of September.

To participate in this project, you will need to create an account on our platform. Through this account, we can assign you testing tasks. You will be asked to use our website for defect tracking and will receive materials to prepare you for testing.

Benefits of being a freelancer at Testlio
  • Schedule: You can create your schedule and work on other testing runs that interest you.
  • Location: Testlio is a 100% remote company. Seriously, you can work from the coffee shop, your home, or while waiting for class.
  • Growth: You’ll be testing global-scale mobile apps and have the chance to boost your skills and grow your career.
  • Payment: You are paid by the hour, not by the bug. This means you get paid even if you did not uncover any bugs.
Requirements
  • Age: You have to be at least 18 years old.
  • Location: Must be physically located in Austria during the month of September.
  • Language: Must at least be comfortable to navigate a streaming app in German.
  • Availability: 30 minutes for your Testlio account setup. For the actual testing task, we are quite flexible, but we anticipate between 2 to 10 hours of testing depending on the test run. Here is what the overall schedule will look like:
    • Phase 1: Ongoing prelaunch testing (intensive, short-term)
    • Phase 2: Launch testing on September 30th
    • Phase 3: Regular weekly test runs (ongoing)
  • Devices: Samsung Tizen TV, LG TV, Hisense TV, Apple TV, Xbox + Laptop/PC/Macbook to access the testing tasks.
  • Experience: Software testing experience is a plus, but if you are new to testing, we offer free courses to help you learn and grow. We offer a preparatory course that will help you learn more about testing on our website.
What does testing look like?
  • Type of testing: Functional testing.
  • Type of work: short-term, freelance.
  • Examples of tasks:
    • Install the app build on your TV device following provided instructions
    • Execute test cases covering playback, navigation, and core functionality
    • Report bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots/recordings
    • Provide feedback on issues found during each run
  • Pay rate: The pay rate for this is 35 USD/hr.
  • Payment: You are paid weekly via PayPal or Payoneer.
  • We will send you the USD amount, which you can then transfer/convert to EUR if it is more convenient to you.
