About the role

We’re looking for a French-speaking transcreator and copywriter with a background in localizing creative content to help us deliver world-class marketing campaigns across the French market. Working with our marketing and copy teams, you’ll help us localize English advertorials, press releases, social media posts, and marketing campaigns. Plus, you’ll craft original French copy to support local marketing initiatives.

This is a part-time, freelance, and fully-remote position. Candidates are most successful in this role when they can offer a time commitment between 8 to 12 hours a week and are available for a longer-term working relationship.

What you’ll do

  • Produce/transcreate diverse marketing copy in French, including emails, landing pages, blog posts, social media posts, and additional marketing material.
  • Champion komoot’s tone of voice and internal style manuals to protect the consistency of our French copy across all channels.
  • Work with other linguists and copywriters to bring product and community news to life via email, social media, and website landing pages.
  • Edit and proofread content for all our UX/product content.

Why you’ll love it

  • Your words will help to establish komoot as the most loved and relatable outdoor brand for our French audience.
  • You’ll play a key role in shaping our messaging and the way people perceive komoot across our French market.
  • Working flexibly on a project-by-project basis, you’ll control when and where you work to best meet the deadlines.
Requirements
You’ll be successful in this position if you
  • Possess native-level French skills with excellent grammatical, written, and editorial capabilities, and have an excellent command of English.
  • Have 3+ years of experience as a transcreator/copywriter, including at least 2 years working on multi-channel advertising and marketing campaigns.
  • Have a deep understanding of French culture and market preferences, enabling you to adapt content that resonates authentically while preserving the intended message.
  • Have demonstrable experience in localization tools and best practices with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Have strong communication skills and good time management, with the ability to meet deadlines (sometimes at short notice).
  • Be set up as a freelancer where you live and able to invoice us monthly for the hours you’ve worked.
  • Have proven knowledge and interest in the outdoor industry.
