About your team:

Centrica Power is a leading energy infrastructure company in the UK and Irish market with energy assets across conventional and flexible generation, renewable energy, energy storage and nuclear. Our nuclear portfolio, is ~ 6GW and our share is 20% ~ 1.2 GW.  At Present, there is 1 PWR reactor and ~4 AGR. For the rest of our Power portfolio, across the UK & Ireland, we have c.£2bn gross capital deployed, over 600MW in operation and a further 500MW in construction.

The vision is to be a world leading flexible power asset business that energises a greener, fairer future and delivers material growth for the Centrica Group and in turn, superior shareholder returns. This is coupled with aspirations to spend close to £3.bn over the next 5 years, in aid of Centrica’s green investment growth strategy and continuing to build a Power business unit of materiality and significance in Centrica’s overall growth plan.

About your role:

We are looking for a FP&A Manager who will form part of the Power Finance Team, with a focus on our Nuclear portfolio but a broad remit across a wide range of current and future power assets.

Location: The successful person would be required to work from our London or Windsor office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Manage planning and forecasting activity, in line with Group guidance, highlighting risks and opportunities to guide a rolling latest view of performance

  • Translate financial asset performance into clear executive reporting content, ensuring financial messages are clear & consistent to drive business decisions

  • Manage the implementation & evolution of PowerTrace which is already transforming insight & automation of our reporting – extend into Nuclear & build continuous improvements across the Power portfolio

  • Manage our Sizewell C forecasting model and liaise with Financial Control team to ensure distributions & cash injections are closely managed

  • Work closely with Financial Control team to develop and maintain financial models which assess the profitability, valuation and risk of existing assets & potential projects

  • Support the Commercial Operations team to quantify financial impact of operational performance

  • Manage financial support for our Power strategy as it evolves, pulling out key financial insights / impacts to drive business decisions

  • Ensure FP&A are in a position to integrate new assets and businesses into our existing processes and reporting

  • Support wider Group programme to transform the way we manage FP&A across Centrica, ensuring Power plays a leading role in shaping the future

Here's what we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant

  • Excellent financial acumen and experience with financial modelling, analysis and planning

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and attention to detail

  • Demonstrable experience of applying a growth mindset to deliver significant and sustainable improvements in business performance

  • Ability to operate and drive opportunities to work as ‘one team’ with the broader Centrica Group, establishing clear ‘ownership’
