About Tracer

Many scientific teams face two major challenges: the difficulty of debugging complex computational pipelines and the rising cost of running them at scale. Together, these problems slow the pace of research and drive up infrastructure spend, making breakthroughs in areas like drug development harder to achieve.

Tracer is building an observability platform for high-performance computing that helps researchers and engineers both optimize costs and improve reliability, unlocking faster discovery across a market that spans life sciences, engineering, and beyond. Backed by over $3M from top investors and based in London, we’re assembling a founding team to tackle this opportunity. Ready to make an impact?

About The Role

As Tracer’s Founding Marketing Director, you’ll build the creative engine that makes our brand impossible to ignore. You’ll shape how the world sees Tracer through stories, visuals, and (digital) experiences that build trust with engineers and scientists at the world’s most innovative companies.

You’ll have full ownership and autonomy to build brand awareness from the ground up, defining Tracer’s narrative, testing value propositions, and growing inbound interest and community engagement. Working closely with the founders, you’ll translate our mission into campaigns that make Tracer stand out in the developer and scientific ecosystems.

This role is perfect for a hands-on marketer who thrives at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and storytelling, and wants to build a brand from 0 to 1 in a fast-moving, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute Tracer’s marketing strategy from scratch, defining our story, reaching technical audiences, and generating inbound demand

  • Build brand narratives that clarify our mission and define our category clearly

  • Create and elevate Tracer’s LinkedIn presence through high-quality posts, carousels, videos and founder stories that educate and inspire

  • Track and analyse campaign performance to make data-driven decisions and continually improve outcomes

  • Plan and host webinars, in-person events and community discussions such as on Reddit, repurposing highlights into short clips and thought-leadership content

  • Collaborate with founders, product and design for consistent storytelling across all channels

Skills & Experience (required)

Required:

  • 5+ years of developer tool or B2B marketing experience, ideally in enterprise, technical, or developer-focused products

  • Proven record of creating high-impact content that drove inbound demand or community engagement

  • Hands-on creative skills, comfortable producing videos, carousels, and digital campaigns yourself

  • Exceptional storytelling ability: you can turn technical concepts into clear, memorable narratives

  • Experience collaborating across sales, product, and design.

  • Based in London or willing to relocate (on-site collaboration is essential for context and creativity)

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in developer tools, AI, or life-sciences, or devtool infrastructure.

  • Personal content projects (LinkedIn, blog, or creative portfolio) that demonstrate marketing craft.

  • Familiarity with community-led or “dark social” marketing models.

Who You’ll Work With

  • Founders (Laura & Vincent): Partner closely to shape Tracer’s narrative and amplify their voices across digital channels, turning the company’s vision into stories that build trust and demand.

  • Engineering Team (Michele, Vaibhav & Aliya): Collaborate to deeply understand the product and translate complex technical ideas into clear, engaging campaigns for scientists and engineers.

  • Product Designer (Paul): Ensure that visual storytelling and brand identity stay consistent, creative, and aligned with our mission.

  • Chief of Staff (Arne) + Growth Interns: Help operationalise and scale campaigns, from content distribution to performance tracking.

🔗 Meet the team

Process

  • All CVs are reviewed by the founders

  • Initial call with the recruiter (20 min)

  • Take-home creative assignment

  • Call with founders (30-45 min)

  • Final in-person interview with team & founders (1 hour)
