As a Founding Engineer, you'll build and ship full-stack features, shaping product strategy and technical direction in a startup environment.
The Opportunity
We're building a talent pipeline for our first engineering hires. This is an expression of interest for a future Founding Engineer role—when we're ready to expand, we'll reach out to candidates who've registered interest.
As a founding engineer, you'll help build the core product from the ground up and shape the technical direction of the company.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship features across the full stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python)
- Develop and refine our RAG architecture—document processing, embedding pipelines, and retrieval optimisation
- Work closely with founders on product strategy and technical decisions
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, cloud services)
- Establish engineering best practices and set the technical culture
Requirements
- Solid experience with modern web development (TypeScript, React, Node.js)
- Python experience and familiarity with AI/ML concepts
- Interest in document AI, embeddings, vector search, and LLM applications
- Self-directed and comfortable with the ambiguity of early-stage startups
- Strong communication skills for a remote-first environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with RAG systems or vector databases
- Background in document parsing/processing
- Previous startup or founding experience
