The Role

 

Following the announcement by the Premier League that Second Spectrum by Genius Sports will be their provider of Semi Automated Offside Technology for the 2024/2025 season, we are looking for Football Officiating Specialists to join our team. Critical to the overall success of the partnership, the people in this role will be responsible for using our software alongside third parties, assisting in its application, development and refinement as an officiating tool in live match day environments and situations. Additionally, you'll  also work alongside the wider Game Operations team to ensure the effectiveness of the entire SAOT system and related processes.

Previous experience in a refereeing position would be welcomed and a great understanding of the laws of the game is preferable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with the operations team according to the flow of live play and the system.
  • Master and have complete command over the entire system and processes.
  • Analyse live tracks, validate markings, and provide QA as necessary for all system events.
  • Aptly available to work on Second Spectrum game operations duties such as tracking and data delivery.

  • Proactive and effective communication skills
  • High level of attentiveness and concentration
  • High tolerance for repetitive work
  • Successful experience with time critical work.
  • High levels of self accountability
  • Expectation to work weekend, evening and holiday shifts
  • Flexibility to be available for short notice shift changes
  • High level knowledge of footballing vocabulary  

Preferable Attributes:

  • Experience in Professional sport
  • Proficient using industry standard software (Second Spectrum)
  • Experience of officiating and knowledge of the Laws of football
  • Excellent I.T skills

Additional position details:

  • Must be able and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess flexibility, including early morning and late evenings.
