OVERVIEW

CAA Base is the agency for professional footballers dedicated to the ongoing development and management of their careers.  Established in 1997, with its Head Office in London and supported by consultant offices throughout Europe, South America, Australasia and North America, CAA Base’s extensive network provides maximum opportunity for its clients’ movement and onward careers. 

Our team of forward-thinking Football Agents, consultants, analysts and in-house specialists work at the forefront of football business. As CAA Base Scotland continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a Football Consultant to support the representation, development and long-term planning of our football clients.

The Football Consultant will play a key role in the day-to-day management of players, acting as a trusted point of contact between the client, the agent team and key stakeholders across the game. This role sits at the heart of client care, recruitment and retention, supporting players across all aspects of their professional journey, both on and off the pitch.

Candidates must be comfortable working within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and demonstrate a strong understanding of the Scottish and wider UK football landscape. They should be proactive, organised and capable of building long-term relationships with players, clubs and colleagues alike, while also being able to work under time constraints, often at unsociable hours.

Based in Scotland and working remotely, the Football Consultant will work closely with the wider CAA Base Scotland team, including Agents, Analysis, Data and Design departments, and will report into the senior Football Agent(s) within the Scotland office.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of assigned clients, supporting their professional development and career planning.

  • Support Football Agents in the identification, recruitment and retention of clients, undertaking appropriate due diligence on prospective players.

  • Act as a trusted point of contact between clients, agents, clubs and key stakeholders across the football industry.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clubs, coaches, football operations staff and other industry contacts.

  • Attend regular live matches, tournaments and meetings in support of both current and prospective clients across Scotland.

  • Operate effectively within a fast-paced football environment, demonstrating flexibility around working hours, including evenings and weekends, with regular travel required across Scotland

  • Contribute to strategic discussions around client pathways, contract planning and career decisions.

  • Work collaboratively with the Analysis, Data and Design departments to support client development, recruitment and performance-related projects.

  • Prepare and contribute to internal reports, player profiles and operational documentation.

  • Ensure all work is delivered to a high professional standard and aligned with CAA Base brand guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate records and support internal operational processes related to client care and retention.

  • Attend and contribute to relevant recurring internal meetings.

  • Play an active role in innovation, process improvement and new project creation within the football department.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with players, families and key stakeholders across the football industry.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative, taking ownership of responsibilities within an experienced role.

  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, representing clients and the business in a professional manner.

  • Proven experience working within the football industry, with a strong understanding of the Scottish game and wider UK football landscape.

  • Existing network of contacts within football, including players, clubs, scouts and football operations staff.

  • Dedicated to self-improvement and ongoing professional development within an evolving football environment.

  • High level of professionalism and presentation skills, with the ability to operate with discretion and integrity.

  • Innovative approach to work, with a willingness to contribute ideas and support new initiatives.

  • Flexible approach to working hours, with an understanding that the role requires regular evening and weekend work and travel across Scotland.

  • High level of tactical and technical football knowledge within elite and professional environments.

  • Spoken and written English to a high level; additional languages are a bonus.
