Financial Controller Fundment  London (Hybrid)


Fundment is a fast-growing wealth infrastructure company embarking on an exciting growth phase. We are looking to hire an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in our financial operations and support the continued growth of our fintech business. This is a hands-on role within a scaling, VC-backed and FCA-regulated environment, offering broad exposure across financial control, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision support.


The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of post-qualification experience and be comfortable operating in a lean, high-growth organisation. Experience within fintech, financial services, or regulated environments is highly desirable.

You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure robust financial reporting, strong controls, and effective cash and capital management, aligned with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

·       Assist the multi-entity, multi-currency month-end close and consolidation process across the UK, US, and Ireland.

·       Review the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

·       Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including FCA, ICARA, and CASS (working closely with the CASS and Compliance teams).

·       Act as a key finance contact for external auditors and regulators.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

·       Partner with the executive team to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models aligned to strategic objectives.

·       Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and growth initiatives.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

·       Monitor group cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation to support business operations and growth.

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners to ensure efficient use of financial resources.

Controls, Processes & Systems

·       Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

·       Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

·       Lead the implementation and integration of new finance systems as required.

Tax, Payroll & External Providers

·       Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with indirect tax obligations and mitigate risk.

·       Review and approve payroll in collaboration with HR, supporting payroll-related queries.

·       Manage relationships with external corporate service providers to ensure high-quality delivery.

 

Audit

·       Assist and coordinate statutory and CASS audits, maintaining effective relationships with audit firms and advisors.

Essential Requirements:

·       ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified

·       4–6 years of post-qualification experience in a financial control or similar role.

·       Exposure to start-up or high-growth businesses strongly preferred.

·       Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with budgeting and forecasting.

Preferred:

·       Experience in an FCA-regulated or financial services environment is desirable.

·       Experience working across multiple jurisdictions (UK and US experience preferred).
