About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a critical role in leading the financial control function, owning the month-end close process, and supporting high-quality Board and investor reporting.

You will work closely with other senior members of the Finance, FP&A, Legal and Revenue Operations teams to ensure strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and operational excellence across the business. This role combines technical accounting expertise with leadership responsibility and strategic exposure, including involvement in M&A, fundraising, and other corporate initiatives as required.

Location: Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland, with the ability to spend 2–3 days per week (twice per month) in the Derry office working alongside Finance team leaders.

What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Director of Finance and CFO across strategic and operational finance priorities, providing accurate and insightful financial information to support decision-making.

  • Owning and managing the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting across multiple entities within a multi-national, multi-currency environment.

  • Leading the management and optimisation of NetSuite, ensuring system integrity, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement.

  • Taking a leading role in Board and investor reporting, preparing high-quality financial packs and analysis with clarity and rigour.

  • Managing direct reports with responsibility for revenue billing, accounts receivable (AR), and entity-level reporting, ensuring accountability and high performance.

  • Overseeing audit processes, tax compliance, and other key operational finance areas, maintaining robust governance and internal controls.

  • Partnering closely with FP&A to ensure alignment between financial control, forecasting, and commercial reporting.

  • Providing financial input into M&A activity, fundraising initiatives, and other ad-hoc corporate projects as required.

  • Supporting cash management, lending requirements, and reporting obligations, particularly within a Private Equity-backed environment where applicable.

  • Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to support scalability and growth.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Professional qualification: You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.

  • Financial control & reporting expertise: You will have significant experience owning the month-end close process and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting across multiple entities. You will be confident maintaining strong balance sheet integrity and ensuring compliance with statutory and reporting requirements.

  • Technical systems experience: You will have substantial experience managing NetSuite within a multi-national, multi-currency environment. You will be comfortable driving system optimisation, improving processes, and ensuring robust financial controls through effective use of technology.

  • Leadership capability: You will have proven experience leading and developing direct reports, creating accountability, and working collaboratively with senior Finance leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Audit and compliance experience: You will have experience overseeing audits, tax compliance, and core operational finance processes, ensuring governance standards are consistently met.

  • Commercial awareness: You will demonstrate strong analytical capability, translating financial data into clear insight for senior leadership, including Board and investor audiences.

  • Adaptability and delivery focus: You will be comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and accountability.

  • SaaS experience (desirable): You will ideally have prior experience working within a SaaS organisation, with an understanding of subscription revenue models and related reporting considerations.

  • Private Equity experience (desirable): You will ideally have experience operating within a Private Equity-backed business, including exposure to cash management, lending structures, covenant reporting, and enhanced investor reporting requirements.

  • Corporate finance exposure (desirable): You will have supported M&A transactions, fundraising initiatives, or other strategic corporate projects, contributing financial insight and analysis where required.
