Job Description:

Financial Administrator

Location: Wilmington Manor Care Home, Common Lane, Wilmington, Dartford DA2 7BA

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4.30pm

Salary: £29012 - £36943 per annum depending on experience

Welcome bonus: £1000*

Wilmington Manor provides a peaceful place for residents to receive residential and nursing care in a safe and homely environment. People requiring respite, convalescence and palliative care are also welcomed into the home.
Converted and extended from a manor house, residents keen on gardening are encouraged to participate, whether lightly or regularly depending on how they please.
The home has two lounges to choose from at the home, as well as the dining room, and if they prefer residents are free to dine in the comfort of their own room. Seasonal menus are created by the home’s chef who understands the needs and tastes of each individual.
There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. Dedicated activity coordinators help ensure residents are able to pursue their hobbies and interests, as well as organising a range of activities which include bingo, quizzes, flower arranging and music sessions, there is so much for residents to enjoy. Regular trips out are also enjoyed as are shopping trips and themed monthly events.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Using bespoke software to raise invoices, process income including cash allocation, complete banking and take appropriate action in relation to debt management.
  • Liaising with Local and Health Authorities to ensure appropriate information and payment is received.
  • Ensuring correct and complete documentation including Terms and Conditions are provided and recorded for all admissions.
  • Safeguarding monies on behalf of residents and funds raised by the home, recording and reconciling transactions to bank statements.
  • Ensuring effective administration of purchasing and supplier payments, management of petty cash transactions and replenishment.
  • Processing of employee related information and payroll to ensure staff information and payments are accurate and timely.
  • Providing clerical support to the Home Manager, including letter writing, memos and local management reporting.
  • Maintaining a well-ordered filing system, stationary replenishment and personnel file management.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

You’ve worked as a Financial Administrator before with experience in providing excellent customer service and you’ll have a friendly manner both face to face and over the phone. You’re approachable, organised, have an eye for detail and the ability to build strong relationships with our residents, their families and internal/external teams. You're dedicated, efficient and can handle a varied workload, and importantly, your caring attitude underpins everything you do - to make a real difference to people’s lives.
