Financial Accountant

To accompany the business on its rapid growth opportunity, Superbet Greece is appointing a financial accountant based out of our Athens HQ. This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the financial accountant will support local decision-making by ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing processes, and supporting business growth in the Greek market. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a rapidly evolving high-growth business.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified accountant (Big 4 background preferred) with 3-5 years post-qualified experience in fast paced industry environments;
• Has expert knowledge of accounting and financial practices, tax, and applicable legislation with strong grasp of IFRS reporting;
• Is being collaborative and assertive, able to proactively gather information from different departments;
• Has the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
• Has excellent Greek and English language skills (written and oral);
• Is proficient with Finance Software and ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 familiarity is helpful but not essential);
• Has the flexibility and ability to grow with us, both in the role and company;

What you'll be doing:

• Financial Operations and Control:

  • Responsible for operational financial activities for the Greek branch of Superbet;
  • Deliver accurate and timely P&Ls, balance sheets & cash reporting;
  • Manage compliance with local tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements;
  • Own relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, auditors, and tax consultants;
  • Oversee financial statement preparation in compliance with local Company Law and filing timelines;
  • Implement and maintain internal controls aligned with Group standards, ensuring effective financial risk management and governance;
  • Optimize cash flow management, payments, and financial controls to enhance operational efficiency;

• Financial Analysis & Business Support

  • Provide clear, reliable analysis to support decision-making at a local level;
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, particularly around automation and system integration;
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, through ensuring data accuracy and timeliness;
